Why is my new carpet shedding?
Loose fibers found on new carpet are the normal outcome of remaining fibers present in the carpet from the manufacturing process. They can be simply vacuumed up, without any damage to the carpet itself. These loose fibers will disappear within the first year of the carpet installation.
How can I avoid permanent indentations?
The rotation of furniture can help reduce the compression of carpet fibres due to heavy furniture. Carpet pile can be worked back into place with the edge of a coin. For high traffic walk areas, regular vacuuming or a carpet rake can be used to ensure that the carpet fibre is being decompressed.
What should I do about static?
Static charges can build up in low humidity environments as you walk across the carpet. This is a normal outcome, and in long term cases can be addressed through the purchase of a de-humidifier.
